I am writing you this morning to inform you that Dave Woodard has submitted a letter to the District Five School Board announcing his intention to retire after 25 years of dedicated service to the Irmo band program.

I would like to extend my personal thanks to Mr. Woodard for his many years of service at Irmo Middle School and Irmo High School.  He was a key figure in many of the brightest moments of our very illustrious program, a full enumeration of which is well beyond the scope of this message. 

I know that the Irmo band family will come together and do everything in our power to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible and that we will all fully support our children and the program in the coming years.

I will provide more information as it becomes available regarding planning for upcoming events, including various Spring concert events, as well as our marching program through the summer and into next season.
