Dear District Five Parent Leaders and Champions,

As you know, we are living through a historic time period and our community is faced with unique challenges as a result of the recession.  The District 5 Foundation for Educational Excellence is committed to developing initiatives to support our families in District Five.

If you would like to recognize a family member, friend, colleague, teacher, administrator or other cherished individual in your life, you can make a donation to the District 5 Foundation for Educational Excellence in their name.  A special recognition card will be sent to the individual you designate or to their family if you choose to make a donation in someone's memory. Samples of the cards are attached here for your review. 

We are proud to update you about two of the newest initiatives developed by the Foundation.  The Five for Five Program was developed initially to assist with the Back Pack Program that provides meals for students who do not have a secure food source on the weekend.  The Foundation is now expanding that program to include an emergency fund to provide support to students and employees in District 5 that are experiencing a crisis or illness.  Unless otherwise specified recognition donations will go to the Five for Five program.
